MAKINI - BONGO FLAVA ARTIST
Makini,
born Mike Okoth is a professional
recording and performing bongo Flava and afro-pop music artist signed under
Ksons Empire records. Makini first discovered his passion for music in primary
school when he got involved with the school choir and the passion led him to
his unrelentless pursuit of following and growing his musical gift and sharing
it with the world.
When
growing up in the industry, Makini looked up to top artists such as Diamond
Platnumz, Rayvanny, Happy C that have been a great source of influence in the
direction that his music career has taken as Makini is now one of Kenya’s fast
rising Bongo Flava and Afropop genre artist, a creative force to reckon with
from song writing prowess and his delivery on vocals exemplified on his songs
such as Raha, a Swahili love song
produced by renown Kenyan producer Barakis then accompanied by a great visual
project that has enjoyed tremendous success under W.A.G entertainment.
At
the start of his music career, Makini who was finding his path in the industry
connected with Kson, a record executive who saw the gift in him and recruited
Makini to his record label and management, the Ksons Empire where Makini
engaged with other talented artists in the Afropop genre under the WAG
entertainment band. His ability to blend his music perfectly with other band
members makes him unique and integral in the band which can closely be compared
to the Yamoto band .
Following
the successful release of Raha, Makini has been actively focused on consistency
and delivering the best Bongo Flava music to his fans and asserts that a new
hit Zamu is in the pipeline with
fellow band member, which is a follow up of his previous songs working with
main producer Barakis. Makini aspires to work with other great and talented
artists in East Africa and internationally such as Willy Paul, Happy C,
Rayvanny, Wizkid, Jason Derulo among others.
The
talented Kenyan artist Makini has been keen of improving his music by working
whole heartedly to deliver flawless classics to his fans using his Swahili
style that has drawn new audiences with its coastal sound appeal fused with
other elements of the wider Bongo sound style
that is huge in Tanzania and East Africa at large.
Makini
credits his success for far to the support from his fast growing fanbase and
the supportive management as his music continues to spread to new audiences
across East Africa and globally. With a positive review on different music
blogs, Makini is expected to feature on more performance stages both local and
regional concerts as he embarks on the mission to impact masses through his
