Kay J Wong, born Ruth Wambui Karanja is a talented Kenyan singer, song writer , a recording  as well as performing artist with a flair for Afropop and hiphop music.  Kay J started out her music career in 2018 at her cousins studio has ever since had the opportunity to discover and explore various genres of music.

Kay j wong has worked with various local producers including Lemario, One Sam among others and has enjoyed positive reception in the Kenyan industry after having released solo hits including ‘Msanii’ and “Manze” both produced by Lemario the producer and available on music streaming platforms such as youtube.



Her unique sheng rap infusion into her music makes Kay J style of music and delivery really stand out from the rest of the music in the Kenyan music scene. Her mastery of the sheng flow and her witty and humorous lyrics has made her a favorite among the growing hiphop music circles with her audience and fan base growing by the day.

Kay J most recent project is titled “MBONA” is a different kind of a song in that Kay J has delivered vocally opting to sing all through the track that blends afro-fusion sound unlike her previous mainly rap rendered hits where she demonstrates her rap prowess. Mbona has enjoy great reception and this is only the start for Kay J Wong, an artist that has shown potential and versatility in the art of music.
